Another trip that usually takes place from any hotel in Punta Cana is the one that leads to Santo Domingo. A trip to a city filled with a deep history associated with the conquest of the Americas.

During the visit to Santo Domingo you can see beautiful places such as the Colonial City, hosted in the historic center of Santo Domingo and starting point in the history of the new world. From this point of departure you will go to every one of the most emblematic places of the area, such as the Columbus Pak, where the great monument of Admiral, El Conde St., scene of countless historical events, Calle Las Damas, the oldest in the city first or Alcazar de Colon, the only known home of the family of Christopher Columbus.

After you will have free time to enjoy the city at your whim and go shopping. Highly recommended to visit the Mercado Modelo, the most famous of the city where you will find any typical product from Dominican Republic.

Then there will be a visit to the National Aquarium of Santo Domingo, who has 250 species, 90 fish ponds and 7 pools, one of them with sharks.

Finally, a stroll around the modern city will make you contemplate the National Theater, the Museum of Dominican Man and the Mirador Sur Park in Santo Domingo.

The ride from Punta Cana to Santo Domingo lasts about four hours by bus.
