Samana Beaches: An adventure through virgin beaches
Playa Bonita-Bonita Beach
Playa Bonita is located in the town of Las Terrenas, 48 Km. from Samana, in the wonderful bay of the same name, known as one of the most beautiful around the Dominican Republic.
Is located 3 miles from town and 5 kilometers from the airfield El Portillo, and very near Playa Cosón. Undoubtedly, the two best beaches in the Samana area, surrounded by a natural landscape unimaginable.
An eight miles of quiet beach that looks like a film scenario. White sand and clear turquoise waters the area is flanked by some beach houses that only added glamour.
In Playa Bonita you can practice varied aquatic activities such as diving, snorkeling, windsurfing, sailing.
You can get Las Terrenas from Samana renting a vehicle, taking a moto-taxi or a bus. The ride is approximately one hour.
Playa Rincon-Rincon Beach
Rincon Beach, located in Las Galeras, Samana is considered among the ten most beautiful beaches in the world by their natural conditions.
Of fine white sand and turquoise water is surrounded by thick and unique vegetation.
From Samana you can get Playa Rincon driving on the highway that connects with Las Galeras or starting from there on horseback through the mountains. A further alternative and full of adventure is through the sea. Get on board of the boat, either from the same village of Las Galeras or from some hotels of the area that offer a tour to the beach.
The shores of Rincon Beach are ideal for practicing water sports such as sailing and windsurfing.
It is characterized by being practically deserted, with typical small hotels around, as well as those offering the system ‘all inclusive’.
Playa Madame-Madame Beach
An interesting excursion that can be done in Samana is to reach Madama beach through of any of two ecotourism routes available.
Playa Madama, because it is only accessible through these paths, is a totally virgin beach of fine sand, and embraced by rocks with a matchless beauty. In addition, you can enjoy beautiful places through the jungle to reach it.
To get to it there are two circuits that run from south to north, parallel to each other and separated about 600 meters from each other to converge at a point beyond which there is only one way to Madama beach. We recommend going through one of two paths and back on the other.
Playa Fronton- Fronton Beach
Playa Fronton is located in the town of Las Galeras, and is considered one of the best beaches in the Dominican Republic, with crystal clear turquoise blue waters and surrounded by beautiful natural landscape.
Reaching it is somewhat complicated by the greenery of the area. It can be reached by foot (minimum two hours’ walk) or by boat. Many natives will offer you the opportunity to take boat to observe both Fronton Beach as Playa Rincon. Evaluate the offer that they make, compare with others and take a decision.
It’s a fantastic beach for snorkeling, both for the variety of fish in the area, as for the clarity of its waters, besides having a water temperature near 30 C degrees, ideal for snorkeling.
